Tropicana Fruit Juice

Tropicana is a globally recognized juice brand that was originally founded in Bradenton, Florida, USA, in 1947 by Anthony T. Rossi. Rossi pioneered fresh-squeezed chilled orange juice using a flash pasteurization process that allowed the juice to be shipped long distances while maintaining its freshness. The brand became a household name for premium, not-from-concentrate juices.

Historically, Tropicana was a flagship brand of PepsiCo for many years. However, in 2021, PepsiCo entered into an agreement to sell a majority stake in its juice business, including Tropicana and Naked, to PAI Partners, a leading private equity firm. This resulted in the formation of Tropicana Brands Group, which is currently headquartered in Chicago. While PepsiCo retains a 39% minority stake and retains exclusive distribution rights for some regions, the ultimate control and strategic ownership rest with PAI Partners. Manufacturing occurs across multiple countries through regional bottling and processing facilities to ensure local market supply and freshness.
