The brand was originally created by the Danish company System Frugt A/S, which was founded in 1991 in Tilst, Denmark. System Frugt established Earth Control as a premium label that focuses on authenticity and carefully selected raw materials, eventually becoming a category leader in Denmark.

In 2020, System Frugt was acquired by the Swedish health and wellness group Midsona AB. Consequently, Midsona is the ultimate owner of the Earth Control brand. While the brand is Danish in origin and often processed or roasted at System Frugt's facilities in Denmark (specifically near Aarhus), the raw cashews are sourced from multiple countries globally, including major producers like Côte d'Ivoire and Vietnam, before being packaged for the Nordic market.
