While the brand maintains its headquarters and high-end manufacturing facility in Vantaa, Finland (where models like the Suunto Vertical are produced), many of its electronic devices and specialized sports watches, such as the Suunto Race displayed, are manufactured in China to leverage global electronics supply chains.

In 2022, Suunto underwent a major ownership change when it was acquired by Liesheng, a Chinese technology company specializing in smart wearable devices. Despite this change in ultimate ownership, Suunto continues to be managed from Finland, preserving its Nordic design heritage and technical expertise in the sports and adventure markets.
