Faxe Beer

Faxe is a renowned international beer brand that traces its roots to Denmark. It was founded in 1901 by Nikoline and Conrad Nielsen in the town of Fakse. Throughout the 20th century, the brand grew from a small regional brewery into a major export powerhouse, known particularly for its strong lagers and iconic oversized cans.

The brand's identity is deeply tied to Norse mythology and Viking imagery, which has helped it gain a strong following across Europe and international markets. In 1989, Faxe Bryggeri merged with Bryggerierne Jyske (which included the Ceres and Thor breweries) to form Royal Unibrew, creating Denmark's second-largest brewery group.

Today, Faxe is a cornerstone brand for Royal Unibrew. While the primary production remains centered in Denmark to maintain its traditional quality, Royal Unibrew's extensive logistics network and various licensing agreements mean the product is distributed or occasionally produced in other locations to meet global demand. The brand continues to focus on high-quality brewing standards, positioning itself as a premium Danish import in many of its active regions.
