Kerrygold is an iconic Irish dairy brand known worldwide for its premium grass-fed butter and dairy products. The brand was established in 1962 by the Irish Dairy Board, now known as Ornua, with the goal of creating a high-quality umbrella brand for Irish dairy exports. Since its launch, it has become one of the most successful international food brands emerging from Ireland, cherished for its golden color and creamy flavor derived from cows grazing on lush Irish pastures.
The production of Kerrygold remains deeply rooted in Irish agriculture. Most of the products are produced in Ireland using milk supplied by local dairy cooperatives. The brand is managed and owned by Ornua Co-operative Limited, an agri-food cooperative which markets and sells dairy products on behalf of its members, Ireland's dairy processors, and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. This cooperative structure ensures that the profits and benefits of the brand's success return to the local farming communities in Ireland.
