Zacapa XO Rum Centenario

Zacapa Centenario is a premium rum originally created in 1976 to celebrate the centenary of the foundation of the town of Zacapa in Guatemala. Unlike most rums that use molasses, Zacapa is produced using the first press of sugar cane juice, known as 'virgin sugar cane honey'. The rum is aged in the highlands of Quetzaltenango at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level, a location famously referred to as the 'House Above the Clouds'.

Historically, the brand was developed by the Guatemalan company Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala. In modern times, the brand's global distribution and ownership rights were shaped by a major agreement in the early 21st century. Today, Zacapa is a high-profile asset in the portfolio of Diageo, a leading global spirits corporation, which manages its international presence and marketing while the production continues to honor its traditional Guatemalan roots.
