DMC (Dollfus-Mieg & Compagnie) is one of the world's most iconic textile companies, founded in Mulhouse, France, in 1746. Originally established as a joint venture for the production of painted fabrics (indiennes), it eventually specialized in high-quality needlework threads and wools. The brand is globally recognized for its embroidery floss and textile supplies used in arts and crafts.

While the company has a legacy spanning nearly three centuries, it underwent significant ownership changes in the 21st century. After being owned by various investment firms, the UK-based private equity fund BlueGem Capital Partners acquired the DMC Group in 2016. Today, DMC remains headquartered in France, and a significant portion of its premium production, including various wool and thread lines, continues to be produced in its historic factories in France, ensuring the preservation of European artisanal quality.
