Remia Satésaus is a iconic peanut-based sauce deeply rooted in Dutch culinary culture. The brand Remia finds its origins in 1925 in Amersfoort, when founder Arie de Rooij began mixing margarines in his garage. Over the decades, the company expanded into mayonnaise, dressings, and specialty sauces like the 'Kant & Klaar' (Ready-to-use) satay sauce produced today.

Manufacturing takes place modern production facilities in Den Dolder, Netherlands. Unlike many large food brands that have been absorbed by global conglomerates, Remia has remained a family-owned enterprise. It is currently under the ownership of the De Rooij family, maintaining a strong heritage of independent Dutch food production while exporting to over 100 countries worldwide.
