Fender is one of the most iconic names in musical history, founded by Clarence Leonidas "Leo" Fender in 1946. The brand is responsible for pioneering solid-body electric guitars, most notably the Telecaster and Stratocaster models, which revolutionized popular music. Originally based in Fullerton, California, the brand has grown into a global powerhouse in the music industry.

Today, Fender products are manufactured in several locations depending on the product line. High-end "American Standard" and Custom Shop models are produced in Corona, California, while the "Player" and more affordable series are typically manufactured in Ensenada, Mexico. Additionally, Squier (Fender's budget brand) and some specific Fender-branded accessories are produced in Japan, Indonesia, and China.

In terms of ownership, Fender went through a significant period under CBS ownership (1965–1985) before being bought by its employees, led by Bill Schultz. Currently, the company is owned by a consortium of private equity firms, with Servco Pacific Capital and TPG Capital as major stakeholders. The brand remains headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
