Douwe Egberts is a historic Dutch coffee brand founded in 1753 in Joure, Netherlands, by Egbert Douwes. Over more than two centuries, it evolved from a small grocery store into a global powerhouse in the coffee and tea industry. The 'Lungo 8 Intens' aluminum capsules shown are designed for use in Nespresso machines and represent the modern evolution of this traditional brand.

The manufacturing of these aluminum capsules predominantly takes place in specialized facilities in France, which serve as a hub for the brand's European distribution. However, as part of a global supply chain, packaging or specific blends may be processed in other regional facilities.

Following a series of mergers and complex corporate restructurings, the brand is currently owned by JDE Peet's, which was formed from the merger of Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Peet's Coffee. JDE Peet's is a world-leading pure-play coffee and tea company. The ultimate ownership is controlled by JAB Holding Company, a conglomerate headquartered in Luxembourg that manages a vast portfolio of consumer goods and food brands.
