Cervecería Austral is one of Chile's most prestigious breweries, established in 1896 by José Fischer in Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in the world. The brand is deeply rooted in Patagonian identity, using local pure water and traditional brewing methods to produce a variety of lagers and ales.
Over the decades, the brand has grown from a regional pioneer into a national icon. It is currently owned by Compañía de Cervecerías Unidas (CCU), a major Chilean beverage producer. CCU is a joint venture between the Chilean Quiñenco Group and the Dutch multinational Heineken N.V. Production primarily remains in Chile, maintaining the brand's heritage and connection to its southern origins while benefiting from global distribution networks.
