IQOS ILUMA ONE tobacco heating system

IQOS is a flagship brand of tobacco heating systems developed by Philip Morris International (PMI). Unlike traditional cigarettes that burn tobacco, the IQOS device heats specially designed tobacco units to release a nicotine-containing vapor without combustion. The ILUMA ONE is a compact, all-in-one model of this technology.

The brand was launched in 2014, with initial pilot tests in Nagoya, Japan, and Italy. While the brand origin and corporate strategy are led by PMI's headquarters in Switzerland and their Global Research and Development center, the physical manufacturing of the electronic components and devices is primarily outsourced to manufacturing hubs in China and Malaysia. The tobacco sticks used with the device are produced in various PMI-owned facilities globally, including sites in Italy, Greece, and Romania. Currently, IQOS remains a central part of PMI's transition toward a smoke-free future.
