Ledlenser flashlights and headlamps

Ledlenser is a globally recognized leader in the portable LED lighting industry, specializing in high-performance flashlights, headlamps, and work lights. The company was founded in 1993 by twin brothers Harald and Rainer Opolka in a small garage in Solingen, Germany. Their breakthrough came with the development of the Advanced Focus System (AFS), a patented technology that combines a lens and reflector to provide both a wide flood beam and a sharply focused spotlight.

While the brand maintains its headquarters, research, and development center in Solingen to ensure German engineering standards, manufacturing was vertically integrated early on through a long-standing partnership with a production facility in Yangjiang, China. This facility is owned and operated by the company to maintain strict quality control.

Historically, the brand grew through a significant partnership with the American company Leatherman Tool Group, Inc., which held a majority stake for over a decade. In 2018, the brand transitioned to holding by AFINUM, a German investment group, and later underwent further corporate restructuring. Today, it operates as Ledlenser GmbH & Co. KG, maintaining its status as a premium innovator in the professional and outdoor lighting markets.
