Alesto is a well-known private label brand exclusively owned and distributed by the German discount retail giant, Lidl. The brand was established in Germany to offer a wide range of high-quality snack products, including nuts, dried fruits, and seeds, at competitive prices for the international market.
Because Alesto is a private label, it does not have a single manufacturing facility. Instead, the products are sourced from a global network of specialized third-party suppliers. For walnuts, the raw ingredients often originate from major walnut-producing regions such as California (USA) or Chile. These are then processed and packaged by facilities contracted by Lidl, often located in Germany or other European countries depending on the regional supply chain logistics.
The ultimate ownership of the brand lies with the Schwarz Group (Schwarz Gruppe), based in Neckarsulm, Germany. As one of the largest retail conglomerates in the world, the Schwarz Group manages the entire lifecycle of the Alesto brand through its subsidiary Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG.
