Gigaset Cordless Landline Phone

Gigaset is a historic telecommunications brand with a complex heritage. Originally a subsidiary of the German conglomerate Siemens AG, the Gigaset brand was born as a line of premium DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) cordless phones. In 2008, Siemens sold a majority stake in its home and office communication devices business (Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices GmbH & Co. KG) to the investment company Arques Industries, which eventually rebranded the entire company as Gigaset.

Following a period of financial restructuring and insolvency proceedings in late 2023, the brand was acquired by VTech Holdings Limited, a global leader in electronic learning products and cordless telephony based in Hong Kong. While the brand remains deeply rooted in German engineering and maintains its primary manufacturing facility in Bocholt, Germany (often marketed as 'Made in Germany'), it is now under the ultimate ownership of a Hong Kong-based multinational corporation.
