Blueair is a globally recognized premium brand specializing in air purification technologies. Founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1996, the company established itself by focusing on high-performance air filtration systems that combine mechanical and electrostatic filtration—a signature technology known as HEPASilent™. The brand's design philosophy is rooted in Scandinavian minimalism, emphasizing both aesthetic appeal and whisper-quiet operation.
Historically, Blueair operated as a Swedish independent entity until its significant acquisition in 2016 by Unilever, the British multinational consumer goods giant. This acquisition allowed Blueair to leverage a massive global distribution network, bringing its high-end air quality solutions to markets across Asia, Europe, and North America. While the engineering and design concepts often trace back to its Swedish roots, the bulk of mass-market manufacturing is currently centralized in China to meet global demand, though some specialized production lines remain in Europe.
Today, Blueair operates as a key part of Unilever’s 'Home Care' business group. The brand continues to innovate with smart-home integrated filters and specialized sensors, maintaining its position as a leader in the premium air purification segment under the stewardship of its ultimate parent company based in London.
