Casio G-Shock sport watch

G-Shock is a world-renowned line of watches manufactured by the Japanese electronics company Casio, designed to resist mechanical shock and vibration. The brand was first introduced in 1983 with the release of the DW-5000C, engineered by Kikuo Ibe who aimed to create a 'triple 10' watch: 10-meter drop resistance, 10-bar water resistance, and 10-year battery life.

Today, G-Shock operates as a premier sub-brand under Casio Computer Co., Ltd. While the high-end boutique models (like the MR-G series) are often manufactured at Casio's flagship Yamagata factory in Japan, the vast majority of consumer models, including the GBD (G-Squad) series seen here, are produced in Casio's large-scale manufacturing facilities in Thailand and China. The brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Casio, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
