Rowenta is a historic German brand with a reputation for precision engineering, particularly in the garment care and home comfort sectors. Founded by Robert Weintraud in 1884, the company originally produced office supplies and lamps before pivoting to the high-quality irons and vacuum cleaners for which it is known today.

Since 1988, Rowenta has been owned by the French multinational Groupe SEB. While the brand maintains its German identity and continues to manufacture its top-tier steam irons at its specialized factory in Erbach, Germany, many other products in its portfolio are produced in various locations globally, including China, to meet international demand. Under Groupe SEB's ownership, Rowenta has expanded into advanced air purification and hair care technology.
