Scan is one of Sweden's most iconic food brands, particularly famous for its Falukorv, a traditional Swedish sausage. Most Scan products are manufactured in Sweden using Swedish meat, adhering to the 'Kött från Sverige' (Meat from Sweden) labeling standards which guarantee that the animal was born, raised, and slaughtered in Sweden.

Historically, Scan was part of the Swedish Farmers' Meat Marketing Association. In modern ownership terms, the brand became a central part of the HKScan group, a leading Nordic food company. In early 2024, a significant ownership shift occurred when HKScan's Swedish operations (including the Scan brand) were acquired by Lantmännen, an agricultural cooperative owned by Swedish farmers. This transition ensures that the ultimate ownership remains within the Swedish agricultural sector, focusing on sustainable food production and local supply chains.
