Parmalat Milk

Parmalat is a globally recognized dairy brand with deep Italian roots, originally founded by Calisto Tanzi in 1961 in Collecchio, near Parma. Over the decades, it evolved from a local dairy producer into a multinational powerhouse, pioneering UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) milk technology which allows milk to be stored for longer periods without refrigeration.

Following a significant financial restructuring in the early 2000s, the company was eventually acquired by the French dairy giant Lactalis. Today, Parmalat operates as a major subsidiary within the Lactalis Group. While its heart and heritage remain Italian, its manufacturing is highly decentralized, with production facilities located in Italy, Australia, South Africa, Canada, and various countries across Latin America to serve regional markets with fresh and long-life dairy products.
