Raytek MiniTemp MT infrared thermometer

The Raytek MiniTemp MT is a non-contact infrared (IR) thermometer designed for quick and safe surface temperature measurements. Originally developed by the Raytek Corporation, a pioneer in infrared technology founded in 1963 in Santa Cruz, California, this device is widely used in automotive, industrial, and home improvement applications.

Over the years, the brand has undergone several ownership changes. In 2002, Raytek was acquired by Danaher Corporation and integrated into its Electronic Test and Measurement platform alongside the Fluke brand. More recently, Raytek became part of Fluke Process Instruments. As of 2026, the brand is under the ultimate ownership of Fortive Corporation, which was spun off from Danaher in 2016. While the original engineering and headquarters were based in the United States, current manufacturing for portable models like the MiniTemp series is primarily carried out in China to serve global markets.
