Les Sablés de La Mère Poulard Pur Beurre

La Mère Poulard is a legendary French brand with roots dating back to 1888, when Annette Poulard founded her famous inn at Mont-Saint-Michel. These pure butter biscuits, or 'sablés', are made following traditional recipes that emphasize high-quality ingredients like French-grown wheat, pure butter, and free-range eggs.

Historically, the biscuits were produced by the La Mère Poulard Group, led by Eric Vannier. However, in late 2025, a significant ownership change occurred: the biscuit manufacturing division (Biscuiterie La Mère Poulard) was sold to the French company Aux Trois Cigognes. This acquisition allowed the original group to refocus on its hospitality and restaurant business at Mont-Saint-Michel, while placing the biscuit brand under the stewardship of a specialized confectionery producer. The biscuits continue to be manufactured in France, primarily at the facility in Maen Roch (Saint-Étienne-en-Coglès), located just a few kilometers from their historical home.
