Probios is a pioneering Italian brand founded in 1978 in Calenzano (Florence), initially starting as an importer of macrobiotic products from Japan before evolving into a leader in the organic and health food market. The product shown, Fette Biscottate Integrali con semi di lino, consists of organic whole-wheat rusks enriched with flaxseeds and extra-virgin olive oil, produced following a slow drying process (at least 20 hours) to achieve their characteristic crunch without added sugars.

While Probios has long been an independent hallmark of the 'Made in Italy' health food sector, its ownership structure recently underwent a significant transformation. In early 2023, the brand was acquired by Agreen Capital, a private equity firm. Following this, in mid-2024, Probios Group expanded further by acquiring BiotoBio, a major competitor in the organic food space.
