Caseificio Barone is a distinguished Italian dairy brand with a history dating back to the aftermath of World War II. Founded by Luigi Barone in 1945, the company is rooted in the Molise region of Italy, specifically in Vinchiaturo. Over the decades, it has evolved into a symbol of artisanal excellence, specializing in the production of traditional Italian cheeses such as mozzarella, ricotta, and scamorza.
The brand is currently managed by the third generation of the family, specifically the sons of Settimio Perrella, who was Luigi's son-in-law and a master cheesemaker himself. The company maintains a strong commitment to using 100% Italian milk and following traditional production methods, such as hand-molding spun paste (pasta filata) cheeses.
While its primary production facility remains in Molise, Caseificio Barone has expanded its international footprint through high-profile partnerships, notably managing mini-dairies within Eataly locations in the Middle East, including Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha. This allows the brand to provide fresh, authentic Italian dairy products to a global audience while maintaining its family-owned heritage and artisanal standards.
