The brand 'Oro Saiwa' is an iconic Italian biscuit label that traces its history back to the establishment of SAIWA (Società Accomandita Industria Wafer Affini) in 1922 in Genoa, Italy. The 'Vitasnella' line was originally developed as a health-focused brand by the French group Danone.

In 2007, Kraft Foods (the predecessor of Mondelēz International) acquired Danone's global biscuit business, and in 2012, it officially took full ownership of the Vitasnella biscuit and snack division. Today, the product is part of the Mondelēz International portfolio, a global snacking powerhouse. Most Oro Saiwa products, including the Vitasnella range, are produced at the Capriata d'Orba plant in the Piedmont region of Italy, utilizing Italian-grown wheat as part of the Harmony sustainability program.
