Shreddies cereal

Shreddies is a historic breakfast cereal brand characterized by its unique lattice-patterned whole grain wheat squares. The product originated in Canada, where it was first produced in 1939 by Nabisco (National Biscuit Company) at a factory in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Originally launched under the name 'Cubs,' it was rebranded to Shreddies in 1941. Today, the manufacturing and ownership of the brand are split between two major global entities depending on the geographic market.

In North America, specifically Canada, the brand was acquired by Post Cereals (now Post Consumer Brands) from Nabisco in 1993. It continues to be manufactured at the original Niagara Falls plant in Ontario. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, the brand was introduced by Nabisco's UK division in 1953 but is now owned and marketed by Nestlé. These UK operations are managed through Cereal Partners Worldwide, a long-standing joint venture between Nestlé and General Mills. Production for the UK and Irish markets is primarily centered at the Nestlé factory in Staverton, Wiltshire.
