Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue is an iconic fragrance launched in 2001, inspired by the Mediterranean spirit of Sicily. The scent was developed by master perfumer Olivier Cresp and has become one of the brand's most recognizable products.
Historically, the fragrance's production followed the brand's licensing agreements, moving through partners like Euroitalia (Italy), P&G Prestige (Germany/UK), and Shiseido (France). However, in 2022, Dolce & Gabbana made a strategic shift to bring its beauty business in-house. By establishing the 'Dolce & Gabbana Beauty' subsidiary, the company regained full control over development and distribution.
Today, manufacturing is centered back in Italy to emphasize the brand's 'Made in Italy' heritage, though some legacy stock or specialized components may occasionally involve European partners. The brand remains privately held by its original founders through their Italian-based corporate structure.
