Simond is a historic French mountaineering brand with a legacy dating back to the early 1820s in the Chamonix Valley. Founded by the Simond brothers, who were blacksmiths at the foot of Mont Blanc, the brand became synonymous with high-quality climbing hardware such as ice axes and carabiners. In 2008, Simond was acquired by the Decathlon Group (formerly known as Oxylane), which integrated the brand into its portfolio as an 'Expert Brand' dedicated to high-altitude sports.

While Simond maintains a manufacturing plant in Les Houches, France, where it produces a significant portion of its technical hardware (like crampons and carabiners), many of its apparel items and other accessories are produced through Decathlon's global supply chain in various countries. The brand continues to focus on technical innovation and accessibility, benefiting from Decathlon's extensive distribution network and research capabilities.
