Grupo Lacasa confectionery

Founded in 1852 by Antonio Lacasa in Jaca, Spain, Grupo Lacasa is one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious chocolate manufacturers. What began as a family-run store selling fabrics, chickpeas, and artisanal chocolate evolved over more than 170 years into a global confectionery powerhouse. The company is particularly famous for its iconic sub-brands, including Lacasitos (colorful chocolate buttons) and Conguitos (chocolate-covered peanuts), as well as its traditional Spanish nougats (Turrón).

Manufacturing is concentrated in five primary facilities: four located within Spain (Zaragoza, Toledo, and Oviedo) and one in Tangier, Morocco. This strategic production footprint allows the group to export its vast catalog of over 100,000 tons of chocolate annually to dozens of international markets across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Ownership of the group has remained within the Lacasa family for five generations, maintaining its status as a fully consolidated family-owned business. Through targeted acquisitions of other historic brands like Productos Mauri and Chocolates del Norte, the company has solidified its leadership in the Spanish confectionery sector while expanding its global presence through commercial subsidiaries in France, Portugal, and Argentina.
