Kotivara Vitlökssalami

Kotivara is a specialized producer of salami and cured meats based in Oulu, northern Finland. Founded in 1943 by charcuterie maker Johan Ruonio, the company has built its reputation on traditional craftsmanship and slow-maturation processes, particularly its cold-smoking method using alder shavings from the island of Hailuoto.

The brand remains a family-owned Finnish enterprise, currently held by the Orvola family through the parent company Lihavara Oy. While it is a significant player in the Finnish market, its products are widely distributed across the Nordic region, including Sweden, where this specific 'Vitlökssalami' (Garlic Salami) is marketed. All production is concentrated in their facility in Oulu, just south of the Arctic Circle.
