Salling ground black pepper

This product is a 40g container of ground black pepper sold under the 'Salling' private label brand. The brand is owned by Salling Group, Denmark's largest retail group, which operates well-known chains such as Netto, føtex, and Bilka. While the raw black pepper berries (Piper nigrum) typically originate from major tropical producing countries like Vietnam, Brazil, or India, the final processing and packaging are managed by Salling Group's supply chain for the Danish market.

Salling Group has a deep history in Danish retail, originating from a draper's shop opened by Ferdinand Salling in Aarhus in 1906. His son, Herman Salling, transformed the business into a supermarket empire. Today, the company is uniquely structured as it is 100% owned by the Salling Foundations (Købmand Herman Sallings Fond and Købmand Ferdinand Sallings Mindefond). This means that the profits are either reinvested into the business or donated to various cultural, sporting, and social causes throughout Denmark.
