Salomon is a historic French brand founded in 1947 in Annecy, the heart of the French Alps. The company began as a workshop specializing in saw blades and metal ski edges, eventually revolutionizing the winter sports industry with the invention of the modern ski binding.

Today, Salomon is a global leader in outdoor gear, ranging from trail running shoes to mountaineering equipment. While its research and development remain headquartered in Annecy at the Annecy Design Center, its manufacturing is distributed globally across countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, and China. Since 2005, the brand has been part of the Amer Sports group, which was later acquired by a consortium led by the Chinese sportswear giant Anta Sports.
