Arabia Moominhouse mug

The Arabia Moominhouse mug is a celebrated piece of Finnish design, first launched in 2015 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Tove Jansson's Moomin stories. The illustration, created by artist Tove Slotte, depicts the iconic blue Moominhouse with various characters visible through the windows. While the brand Arabia has its roots deeply planted in Helsinki, Finland, where it was founded in 1873, modern production has shifted internationally. Following the closure of the historic Helsinki ceramics factory in 2016, manufacturing for Arabia products was moved to a network of partner facilities, primarily located in Thailand and Romania. Despite this shift in manufacturing location, the design, product development, and brand management remain headquartered in Finland.

Today, the Arabia brand is part of the Fiskars Group, a major Finnish conglomerate known for its iconic orange-handled scissors. Fiskars acquired Arabia through its purchase of the Iittala Group in 2007. The Moomin collection remains one of their most popular and enduring lines, blending timeless Nordic ceramic tradition with the beloved literary world of the Moomins.
