Stanley is a historic American brand that revolutionized the beverage container industry in 1913 when founder William Stanley Jr. invented the all-steel vacuum-insulated bottle. Originally manufactured in the United States, production shifted significantly after the brand was acquired in 2002. Today, the vast majority of Stanley products, including the viral Quencher tumblers, are manufactured in China, with additional secondary production facilities in Brazil to serve regional markets.

The brand has undergone several ownership changes throughout its century-long history. After being owned by Aladdin Industries for several decades, it was purchased by Pacific Market International (PMI), now frequently referred to as PMI Worldwide. In 2024, PMI became a subsidiary of HAVI Group LP. It is important to distinguish this brand from Stanley Black & Decker, which is a separate entity focused on industrial tools; the two companies currently share the 'Stanley' name under specific trademark agreements and have been involved in legal disputes regarding brand identity as of 2025 and 2026.
