Nordthy is a prominent Danish family-owned brand with a history dating back to 1966. Originally founded as 'B. Lukassen's Kager' by Børge Lukassen in Thisted, Denmark, the company initially focused on local cake distribution via 'cake trucks.' Over the decades, it evolved from a local distributor into a major Scandinavian FMCG player, rebranding as Nordthy Biscuits and eventually simply Nordthy.
Today, Nordthy operates primarily as a sourcing and distribution powerhouse. While the brand is deeply rooted in Danish tradition and headquartered in Thisted, they do not produce all their goods in-house. Instead, they source and import products from various specialized manufacturers across Europe and globally to maintain a diverse catalog of snacks, confectionery, and biscuits. Consequently, the manufacturing country can vary depending on the specific product batch, though the brand identity remains strictly Danish.
In 2023, Nordthy further expanded by acquiring BS-Import A/S, strengthening its food division. The company remains under the ultimate ownership of the Lukassen family, with multiple generations active in the business leadership.
