Melem Loves Women lip balm

Melem is a legendary Croatian skincare brand that has become a staple in Southeast Europe since its creation in 1977 by chemist Ninko Nikšić. Originally called 'Zagrebački Melem' to reflect its origins in Zagreb, the name was eventually shortened to Melem, a word of Turkish origin meaning 'healing balm.' The product gained widespread popularity for its versatile, protective formula used to treat dry and chapped skin.

Historically, the brand was produced by Neva d.o.o., a long-standing pharmaceutical and cosmetic company in Croatia. In 2004, Neva was acquired by the Atlantic Grupa, one of the leading food and consumer goods companies in the Balkan region. However, in 2018, the brand underwent another ownership change when it was acquired by Magdis Grupa (Magdis d.o.o.), a Croatian company specializing in the production of medicinal and pharmaceutical-grade cosmetics. Under Magdis Grupa, the brand has expanded its portfolio significantly to include specialized lines like 'Melem Loves Women,' while maintaining its production facilities in Rakitje, near Zagreb, Croatia.
