Head & Shoulders is a globally recognized American brand of anti-dandruff shampoo, originally developed by the Procter & Gamble (P&G) company. The brand's history dates back to 1949 when P&G researcher John Parran Jr. began clinical trials to find a more effective and pleasant solution for dandruff than existing coal-tar treatments. After a decade of research, the product was introduced in the United States in 1961.
Today, Head & Shoulders is owned by Procter & Gamble, a multinational consumer goods giant headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Suprême line, featuring argan oil and targeting scalp purification and volume, is part of the brand's premium segment. While P&G operates 132 factories worldwide, European stock for the German market—such as the bottle shown—is primarily manufactured in Germany and the UK, which serve as regional manufacturing hubs for the company's hair care division.
