La Roche-Posay Nutritic Lips is a dermatologist-recommended lip balm stick designed specifically for very dry and sensitive lips. The brand was founded in 1975 by French pharmacist René Levayer in the town of La Roche-Posay, France, famous for its thermal spring water which serves as a core ingredient in many of the brand's formulations due to its antioxidant and soothing properties.
In 1989, La Roche-Posay was acquired by the French cosmetics giant L'Oréal. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of L'Oréal's Dermatological Beauty division. The product shown, which features biolipids and Ceramide 5 to help restore the skin's natural moisture barrier, is manufactured in France. As of 2026, L'Oréal remains the ultimate owner, continuing to position the brand as a global leader in dermo-cosmetics with a strong emphasis on clinical safety and efficacy.
