While the company initially focused on biscuits, it pioneered savory snacks in Germany, launching the ErdnußLocken brand in 1963.

Today, the brand is owned and operated by The Lorenz Bahlsen Snack-World GmbH & Co KG Germany. Following a major family business restructuring in 1999, the savory snack division became an independent entity led by the Lorenz Bahlsen branch of the family. The company remains a family-owned business, currently under the leadership of the fourth generation. Production primarily takes place in German facilities, such as the major plant in Neunburg vorm Wald, though the company also operates production sites in Poland and other international locations.
