Melrose's Tea is a historic brand with roots tracing back to 1812 in Edinburgh, Scotland, where it was founded by Andrew Melrose. It became a prominent name in the British tea trade, notably being the first tea merchant outside of London to legally import fresh tea from China after the East India Company's monopoly ended in 1833.

Over the decades, the brand underwent various corporate transitions. In 1990, the Edinburgh Tea & Coffee Company was formed through a management buyout of the Melrose Tea Company, though the brand itself also became associated with Brodie, Melrose, Drysdale & Co Ltd. Today, the brand is part of the portfolio of Brodie, Melrose, Drysdale & Co Ltd, which has been a subsidiary of the Italian beverage giant Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group since 2007. The tea is typically blended and packaged in Scotland, maintaining its legacy as a classic Scottish tea.
