Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Scented Hand Cream is a specialized dermatological skincare product designed for intense hydration and repair of dry or cracked hands. Despite its name referencing Norway, the brand has deep American roots. It was founded in 1930 by Emanuel Stolaroff as 'Natone' in Los Angeles, originally supplying cosmetics to the Hollywood film industry. The 'Norwegian Formula' was inspired by a traditional recipe used by Arctic fishermen to protect their skin from extreme cold, which Stolaroff later commercialized.
Historically part of the Johnson & Johnson family since 1994, the brand underwent a significant corporate shift in 2023. It became part of Kenvue, an independent consumer health company spun off from Johnson & Johnson. In a landmark deal announced in late 2025 and expected to finalize in the second half of 2026, Kenvue is set to be acquired by Kimberly-Clark, which will become the brand's ultimate owner. While the brand is global, this specific product is manufactured in France, as indicated on the packaging, serving the European market.
