Circle K is a global leader in the convenience and fuel retail industry. Founded in 1951 by Fred Hervey in El Paso, Texas, the brand initially grew through the acquisition of Kay's Food Stores. Over the decades, it expanded across the United States and entered international markets through licensing and franchising agreements. Today, its operations span North America, Europe, and several other regions including Asia and the Middle East.

While the brand originated in the United States, it is currently owned by the Canadian multinational corporation Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., which acquired it in 2003. Since the acquisition, Couche-Tard has consolidated several of its retail brands, such as Mac's and Statoil, under the global Circle K banner. Manufacturing and sourcing for Circle K’s private-label products, such as its signature Polar Pop and prepared food items, occur in multiple countries to support its extensive network of over 15,000 locations worldwide.
