Head & Shoulders is a globally recognized brand specializing in anti-dandruff hair care. The brand was originally developed by Procter & Gamble in the United States, following nearly a decade of research led by Dr. John Parran Jr. in the 1950s. It was officially launched in 1961 as one of the first effective anti-dandruff treatments that also provided a pleasant hair-washing experience.
Today, the brand remains under the ownership of Procter & Gamble (P&G), a major American multinational consumer goods corporation. P&G is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and manages a vast portfolio of household and personal care brands. While the brand has its roots and headquarters in the USA, its products are manufactured in numerous facilities worldwide to serve different regional markets. In the European market, particularly for products sold in Germany, manufacturing often takes place in various European locations, though the ultimate strategic and brand control remains with the American parent company.
