Caffè Vergnano is one of Italy's oldest and most prestigious coffee roasters, with a history dating back to 1882 when Domenico Vergnano opened a small apothecary in Chieri, near Turin. The brand has remained deeply rooted in Italian coffee culture, focusing on slow-roasting techniques that preserve the aroma and quality of the beans.
While the Vergnano family continues to lead the company, a significant milestone occurred in 2021 when Coca-Cola HBC acquired a 30% equity stake in the business. This strategic partnership was designed to expand Caffè Vergnano's international presence by leveraging the extensive distribution network of Coca-Cola HBC. Production remains concentrated in Italy, specifically at the Santena plant, ensuring the brand maintains its authentic 'Made in Italy' status while being distributed globally by one of the world's largest bottling partners.
