Alpro is a leading European brand of plant-based food and beverage products, founded in 1980 in Belgium by Philippe Vandemoortele. The brand initially focused on soy-based products and has since expanded its portfolio to include almond, coconut, hazelnut, and oat alternatives. Alpro's manufacturing takes place in several locations across Europe, including Belgium, the United Kingdom, and France, to serve various international markets.

In 2009, Alpro was acquired by the American company WhiteWave Foods. WhiteWave was later acquired by the French multinational food-products corporation Danone in 2017. Today, Alpro operates as a subsidiary of Danone, aligning with Danone's focus on healthy, sustainable, and plant-based nutrition. It remains a dominant brand in the European market for dairy alternatives.
