Ziggo internet

Ziggo is the leading provider of fixed-line broadband internet, cable television, and telephony services in the Netherlands. The brand was established in 2008 following the merger of Multikabel, Casema, and @Home. It has since become a dominant player in the Dutch digital infrastructure market, known for its high-speed fiber-coaxial network and its convergence with mobile services.

In 2014, Ziggo was acquired by Liberty Global, a major international telecommunications group. Subsequently, in 2017, Ziggo merged its operations with Vodafone Netherlands to form a joint venture named VodafoneZiggo. This strategic partnership allowed the brand to offer integrated fixed-mobile packages, competing directly against national incumbents like KPN.

The ultimate ownership of Ziggo is shared equally between Liberty Global and Vodafone Group Plc. While the services are provided exclusively within the Netherlands using local infrastructure, the strategic direction and corporate governance are dictated by its multi-national parent companies based in the United Kingdom and the United States/Bermuda. The brand remains a cornerstone of the Dutch media and telecommunications landscape.
