While the American branch focused on pioneering the plastic model kit market in the 1940s and 50s, the German subsidiary (Revell GmbH) became a powerhouse in its own right, eventually becoming the global face of the brand after the American division faced various ownership shifts.

Today, Revell is renowned for its high-quality plastic injection-molded kits covering aircraft, ships, automobiles, and military vehicles. The brand also maintains a robust line of remote-controlled toys and tools for hobbyists. Manufacturing is strategically distributed, with a significant amount of high-precision plastic injection molding occurring in Bünde, Germany, and Poland to serve the European market, while many components and RC products are sourced from specialized facilities in China.

In terms of ownership, the brand has consolidated under European leadership. Since 2018, Revell has been owned by the Quantum Capital Partners (QCP) group through its portfolio companies. This ownership has allowed Revell to modernize its production and expand its licensing agreements with major franchises like Star Wars and Disney, ensuring its place as a leader in the global hobbyist and toy sectors.
