Squier Jazz Bass

Squier is a celebrated brand in the music industry, widely recognized as the entry-level and value-oriented subsidiary of the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. Originally founded as V.C. Squier Company in the United States, it initially focused on making strings for violins, banjos, and guitars before being acquired by Fender in 1965.

In the early 1980s, Fender repositioned Squier as a brand to produce affordable versions of classic Fender models like the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass, and the Jazz Bass pictured here. This move was initially aimed at competing with Japanese manufacturers. Today, Squier instruments are manufactured in various locations across Asia, primarily in Indonesia and China, though they have historically been produced in Japan, Korea, and Mexico. Ownership remains with the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, ensuring that the heritage and design specifications of the original American brand are maintained in these accessible instruments.
