Gretsch Snare Drum

Gretsch is a legendary name in the world of percussion and musical instruments, known particularly for its high-quality drums and guitars. Founded in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York, by Friedrich Gretsch, the brand became a staple in the jazz and rock movements. This snare drum features the iconic 'Round Badge' or similar branding associated with the Gretsch Drum Company.

Today, the brand operates under a unique ownership and distribution structure. While the Gretsch family still retains ownership of the brand itself, the manufacture and distribution of Gretsch Drums have been managed by Drum Workshop (DW) since 2015. Manufacturing occurs in multiple locations: high-end, custom series are primarily produced in Ridgeland, South Carolina, USA, while intermediate and entry-level kits and hardware are manufactured in Taiwan and China. In 2022, Drum Workshop – and by extension the management of Gretsch Drums – was acquired by Roland Corporation, a global leader in electronic musical instruments.
