HeroQuest is a legendary adventure board game where players work together to defeat the evil sorcerer Zargon and his minions. Originally launched in 1989 through a collaboration between Milton Bradley and Games Workshop, the game became a cult classic for its immersive fantasy setting and high-quality miniatures.
After being out of print for decades, the brand was revitalized in 2020 following a successful crowdfunding campaign. The modern version is produced and marketed under the Avalon Hill brand, which is a subsidiary of the toy giant Hasbro. While the game's creative roots are in the United States and the United Kingdom, global distribution and manufacturing are managed through Hasbro's extensive network, with most production occurring in specialized facilities in China.
Today, the brand remains a cornerstone of the dungeon-crawl genre. Hasbro continues to expand the game with numerous quest packs and expansions, maintaining the brand's legacy for a new generation of fantasy enthusiasts under its multi-billion dollar entertainment portfolio.
